We have been in Dominica for a little over three weeks and I feel like there is so much to say to catch everyone up!! Let me start by first telling everyone that we are doing great!! The first three – four days were extremely hard. To say it was a culture shock to come here is an understatement!!! Dominica is not your typical Caribbean island that a lot of people think it is. It is very poor here and the life of convenience has been thrown out for the next year and a half that were here. But after “adjusting” to island life we have grown to really like it here. Justin really hasn’t been able to experience the culture and the island like I have gotten to because he is in class or at home studying most of the time he is awake. I am using this website so that yall can keep up with our every day “adventures”. Check out my first story tomorrow about how Fisher (one of our dogs) is interacting with the local animals!!
