This post is way overdue!!!

For those of you that live under a rock – Justin and I had a BEAUTIFUL baby girl on March 15!!!! She is absolutely PERFECT and we are so in love with her. The first couple of weeks have been such a blessing. She sleeps VERY well and we are so thankful! She is pretty much on a routine now of eating every 2.5 hours. After she eats we try to keep her awake but she usually just falls right back to sleep. Sometimes she even eats while she is sleeping! She is also sleeping about 5-6 hours a night.

So far we have had very few outings. Her first one was to the Pediatricians office the Friday after she was born to “weigh in”. She had gained 1.5oz since she left the hospital!

The second one was to Charleston (AR.) – a small town about 15 minutes away for her newborn pictures. She did great! The photographer molded her in all these positions and she slept through the WHOLE thing. Which kinda stinks because we didn’t get any pictures with her eyes open.

The third time was to the hospital to get her blood drawn. Her thyroid levels were high at birth so they had to retest them. Two different people had to stick her because the first lady couldn’t get enough blood from her hand so another lady had to come in and draw blood from her arm. She cried of course but I think I cried more. Her levels are normal now and she is fine!

And then the fourth and latest outing was to a little burger “drive – in” type place. She stayed in the car when we ordered at the window and then we sat in the car and ate our burgers. Again – slept the whole time! Next stop – an actual restaurant!!! (I hope)

Below are some pictures from the day she was born. To see all of them go HERE.

Thanks to some wonderful gift cards we got a really nice Pack N Play for Rebekah! Don’t know how were gonna use it really but I figured we needed one. Here are some pictures of it (“before and after”) and a cute little video of Justin at the beginning of putting it together! Thanks to everyone who gave us a Wal-Mart gift card – this is what we got with it!!!

We had our LAST doctor appointment today!!! We have scheduled an induction for Monday, March 15th and we have to go in at 5:30 a.m.!!! Our doctor said Rebekah would be making her debut around noon – late afternoonish. Our doctor also told us that he thought Rebekah would be about 8.5 lbs by Monday!! By looking at her pictures it looks like about 3 lbs of her is in her cheeks. She also looks like she is going to have Justins nose! Below is a picture of her at 30 weeks. We have had a couple ultrasounds since then but her face was smushed against my right side so the ultrasound tech couldn’t get a good profile picture of her.

Right now I am dialated at a 2 (which is where I was last week also) and the doctor said I am very favorable. Meaning I could be induced anytime if I wanted to be. Her head is down and very low. So now the waiting game continues!

My birthday was last Monday and it was one of the best! Justin did a GREAT job doing things for the big 2-5 to make me feel special!

First off – for the 10 days before my birthday there was a card waiting for me somewhere in our room every morning when I woke up. My second to last card (Sunday) had a gift certificate to a spa here in Fort Smith for me to use after Rebekah is born! Then Saturday I got a beautiful bouquet of pink and purple flowers. And the card said “These are early just in case your not home on your birthday”! So a small hint for what he was doing for the day of my birthday! And then Saturday night we went up to Rogers to eat at Copelands (one of my favorite restaurants) with my family.

The top shelves are all my cards from Justin!
Monday morning when I woke up there was a card right on top of my contacts. (I put my contacts in first thing every morning before I even get out of bed). I opened it and it said to pack my bag for an overnight trip! I had a pretty good feeling of where we were going just because I had a hair appointment the next day in Little Rock.

So I went downstairs and our family “birthday tradition” was waiting on me. 25 candles on the counter for me to blow out! (It is getting harder and harder to do all of Mom and Dads candles!). Mom had a sack of goodies for our “trip”, there were cards from Mom and Dad, and orange rolls were in the oven! A great start to my day!

So off to Little Rock we go. Well – I technically didn’t KNOW that yet. I just knew to head east on I-40. When we got to Little Rock we ate at Cheeburger Cheeburger for lunch. Then we went to paint pottery! (Another one of my surprises!) While we were painting pottery Justin left and came back with a “bouquet” full of chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements!  I had been wanting one of these for a LONG time! It was so good – we ate most of it before I could even take a picture!

Then we went and checked in to our hotel downtown. Justin had made reservations at a very nice restaurant in LR but we ended up cancelling! Ha! We decided we didn’t really wanna spend so much money on dinner when we had already had a great day together. So we ended our night watching The Bachelor and going to Wal Mart to get a prescription for a fever blister that I had popping up! We had a GREAT time!!! Thanks so much to everyone who made my birthday perfect!

Our painted pottery! I did a picture frame for Rebekah and he did a bowl of some sort.
